Technical Communicator
Manager / Editor / Writer / Creator / Instructional Designer
Hi, I'm Nicole Lindquist.
I'm a technical communications leader, editor, and writer.
My job is to take complex information and make it clear and easy to use for the people who rely on it. If you need someone who leads with kindness, writes with clarity, and treats your content and your people with care, I'd love to talk. Let's create something clear and useful together.
What I enjoy most is bringing order to complexity. My work creates clarity for complicated ideas in a thoughtful way to support teams and build trust. That might mean redesigning SOPs, migrating and structuring content to meet ISO 9001 standards, building SharePoint and PowerApps reporting tools that show a team's impact, or acting quickly with senior leaders when a high-stakes incident calls for accurate guidance right away.
I'm also excited about the thoughtful, smart use of AI in editorial work. I've earned certifications in AI editing and prompting and use AI tools every day to work smarter, translate content, and find gaps before they become problems.
My path here has been anything but ordinary, and that's one of my strengths. Before technical writing, I spent 20+ years working in the legal ethics field (from administrative staff, writing assistant, to firm manager). Those years taught me precision, discretion, deference, empathy, and how to write for audiences where every word matters. I have also done contract work with universities, instructional designers, and learning and development facilitators.
I now lead a team of skilled writers who support over 8,000 personnel working in high-stakes security industry roles in over 1,000 datacenters globally. Our work supports many channels of the business, such as logistics, safety, global and regional operations, compliance, training, project management, communications and documentation, branch and site needs, company and client leadership, and a variety of other stakeholders. We never turn away a support request and strictly adhere to style guides, company and client requirements, confidentiality policies, and branding.
Outside my day-to-day work, I believe in lifting others up. I mentor through the ATD TechComm SIG (Florida Suncoast Chapter), stay active with ACES and EFA, and previously served as Employment Chair for Florida's Society for Technical Communication chapter. I also serve as a mentor in Securitas's Women in Security mentoring program and enjoy regularly connecting with a mentee to build leadership skills and competencies for next-level ambitions.
It is important for me to further my professional development regularly and encourage those in my circle to take advantage of those opportunities as well. I even started a book club at work, because I think connection and curiosity make every team better.
